Question 1: Mr Shigri can we workout during Ramzan?
Ans. Yes, he responds with a smile
Question 2: What would be the ideal time for that?
Ans. Many people believe that time before Iftari is the best for workout however that is not so the case. The thing is when you take a meal after 16 or 17 hours and have worked out before that your body simply switches to the survival mode after Iftari, reducing its metabolic rate and storing up all the fat unknowing when it will receive its next meal. That’s how it’s programmed to work. The best time to work out is after Iftari.
Question 3: Can we gain muscle mass during Ramzan?
Ans. Absolutely. For that you need to take at least four meals between Iftari and Sehri. Make sure that your protein and carbohydrate intake becomes higher and that you avoid all sorts of oily food including our much favored samosas and pakoras. When you work out lift more heavy weights with less repetition and go for less cardio.
Question 4: And can we lose weight?
Ans. Of course, he responds with another smile. Just minimize your carbohydrate intake and go for more cardio and less weight lifting.
Question 5: If any of our readers want to get into touch with you for their problems, what would be the best way to do that?
Ans. I am happy to help out any one. Just tell them to inbox me on my Facebook page.
