Islamabad’s new airport being built in the area of Fateh Jang is likely to be completed in October 2016 at the cost of Rs 90 billion.

Sources said the airport will serve as many as 90 lac people annually. The airport has entered the last phase of construction as at least 85 percent of the work has been completed. The new airport, situated near Fateh Jang will have two runways while it will support boarding in at least 15 aircrafts simultaneously.

A four-storey airport terminal, huge parking capacity, at least 108 check-in counters among other facilities will be available.

This will be the first airport in Pakistan, where the biggest passenger aircraft Airbus A-380 will land. Latest landing system will allow planes to land in harsh weather and dense fog. The airport is built on at least 3,289 acres land which will be connected with twin cities
