Ajmal Is Back Folks, He Is Back

Ajmal is back folks, he is back. After a few nightmarish months, the bowler has finally been cleared of all charges by ICC and his bowling action declared legal.

It’s funny somehow our best bowlers always get vetoed out by ICC just before the world cup. Last time it was Aamir and Asif of spot fixing fame, this time it’s Ajmal, the game changer of our team.

Pakistan’s leading off spinner has always had the distinction of a clean career, being never involved in any conspiracy whatsoever. During the heydays of his career he was always considered a nightmare for the batsmen, being difficult to bat and hit.

Thus it was highly shocking when he was all of a sudden taken off the field a few months back suspected for illegal bowling actions.

However in the retests taken last week, it was revealed that the amount of elbow extensions in the off spinners was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations.

Great news for the Pakistani team which definitely looked to be lagging in terms of quality bowling however shocking as it may sound the team management for some strange reasons of its own has refused to take Ajmal in.

A great jolt for Ajmal fans no doubt and we definitely don’t understand the dressing room politics that made the Pakistani team management take this decision which seems both stupid and hilarious no doubt but one thing is for sure, Pakistani team at the moment lacks quality players and Ajmal would definitely have made the difference.

The PCB has asked the team management to review its decision but if they don’t than this might have been the last chance for an ageing Ajmal already in his nearing forty to participate in the world cup.

If we don’t see Ajmal in action this world cup than Pakistan without any doubt would have wasted away a key player. Let’s just hope that our dear team management revises its decision.
