The thing is when you take a meal after 16 or 17 hours and have worked out before that your body simply switches to the survival mode after Iftari, reducing its metabolic rate and storing up all the fat unknowing when it will receive its next meal. That’s how it’s programmed to work. The best time to work out is after Iftari.

Question 3: Can we gain muscle mass during Ramzan?

Ans.  Absolutely. For that you need to take at least four meals between Iftari and Sehri. Make sure that your protein and carbohydrate intake becomes higher and that you avoid all sorts of oily food including our much favored samosas and pakoras. When you work out lift more heavy weights with less repetition and go for less cardio.
