After a hard day of work we all need something special. And to soothe our taste buds there can be no better place than Islamabad with all the famous restaurants located in the city! But come on folks, a hard day of work in the summer’s heat requires something extra.
On the quest to find something new and special, we ventured out to try Smoking Joe’s Pizza and grill. Smoking Joe and Pizza might not be as popular as McDonalds or Nando’s but it certainly belongs to a good class.
To rid ourselves of the hunger pangs we ordered a lasagna and Parmesan chicken. It all started well. The food arrived on time, the quantity was good. Most importantly the food was served fresh and hot undoubtedly having been freshly cooked. The taste might not be the best but wasn’t too bad either!
We decided to give the lasagna 4 out of five for its taste and quantity and the Parmesan chicken a 3.5 out of five. The food might not have been brilliant but wasn’t too bad either.
Yet certainly it was overpriced. For a whopping sum of Pkr 1540 just for the sake of lasagna and chicken might be a bit too high. After much deliberation we decided to give Smoking Joe’s pricing strategy 2 out of five!
However though it started off well by the end of our meals we were both raving with disappointment. Our irritation can be gauged from the fact that leaving behind the high class English by the time we had finished our food, we resorted to talking in traditional Urdu. Food might have looked okay at first but just not good by the end or bakwas as one of us would describe it!
What was most irritating was that the tons of leftover food was not due to the us being less hungry but simply because the food just did not appeal to our taste buds.
Though what annoyed us the most was when we found out they we had been cheated out of our Pepsi cans even though we had clearly ordered those in the first place.
With bitter disappointment taking away our earlier ratings, we decided to be harsher. My friend decided to give the overall experience one out of five, I on the other hand decided to settle on two.
Maybe the lesson to be learned from our experience is that people should check their order list before receiving any order and no dinner after a tough day is not the time to mess with your stomach! Here relying on past experience might be a better option! Most importantly Smoking Joe’s Pizza and grill might not offer you the best experience!
