Office of Egypt’s prime minister: With more than 217 people ,with seventeen of the passengers being children and seven crew members on board, Russian airliner crashed in central Sinai. There are no survivors from the crash.
Most of the passengers are said to be tourists from Russia. According tot the Egyptian media reports ambulances have arrived on the scene of the wreckage. Egyptian Prime Minister Sharif Ismail has formed a crisis committee to investigate about the crash and take necessary actions to aid the effected people.
Kolavia Flight 7K9268 – Airbus A-321 operated by the Russian airline Kogalymavia, had just taken off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, on its way to the St Petersburg in Russia. After 23 minutes it stopped responding to the air traffic in Turkish Cyprus’ Larnaca.
A source claimed that the pilot of flight 7k9268 had requested a change of course as he believed the plane would have to land in Cairo without confirming if there were any technical problems.
A centre has been set up at the Pulkovo airport to help relatives of the passengers killed in the air crash.
