Pakistan defeats arch rivals India in Asian Games volleyball quarterfinal

JAKARTA: In the quarter-final of the men’s volleyball event at the Asian Games 2018 Jakarta Palembang, Pakistan defeated arch rivals India three sets to one.

India won the first set 25-21. However, Pakistan came back strongly and won the second set 25-21. In the third set, Pakistan kept the pressure on India and made it 2-1. The next set had to be won by India to take the match to the fifth set. However, in an intense battle, Pakistan got the better of their opposition winning it by a scoreline of 25-23.

So Pakistan defeated India in the quarterfinals with the scoreline of 25-21, 21-25, 21-25, 23-25.

Pakistan will now face China in the semi-finals on August 30.
