Which Cricket Team Is Better: India or England?

In recent times test series between India and England have been one-sided. The last time India toured England they suffered a 3-1 defeat. But this time India seem better equipped to challenge England.

India will rely on Virat Kohli to lead from the front. In the previous series against England in England, Virat Kohli scored 134 runs with an average of 13.40. This time around he will desperately want to change his fortunes and make this series a memorable one.

India’s strike force in their pace department would be Bhuvneshwar Kumar- their premium swing bowler. Jasprit Bumrah could also turn out to be a potent force. And as we saw in the recent test series between England and Pakistan, England’s batting is fragile and there are loopholes.

England has tried numerous openers with Alistair Cook but none have performed well. So India could make use of this weakness and try to exploit it. Secondly, there are question marks on England’s middle order as well. Also, Dawid Malan struggled against Pakistan and currently doesn’t seem like a convincing no.4 batsman for England.

However, England’s strength is their lower middle order with the likes of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler. So even If India strikes early wickets it will still be a hard task to restrict England to a low total.

England’s trump cards would be James Anderson and Stuart Broad. On English pitches, these two together on song can any destroy batting side. If England’s batting does well then India could face problems.

The biggest worry for England would be their weak spin attack. In contrast, India has a strong spin attack. And on conditions suited to spinners in latter stages of the match, it could prove fatal for England.

Overall, India has an edge even though it will be an away series with conditions favoring England. And an inspired and vengeful Kohli can spark the Indian team to pin England down in what would be a famous series win.
